Crew Manager Accreditation

Crew Manager Accreditation

The WIS UK Crew Mangers Training Programme has been awarded external accreditation by York College and the National Awarding body NCFE.

For years the stocktaking industry in the UK has been plagued with the reputation of poor service, due in part to the practice of employing agency and temporary staff who are inadequately trained for the job. At WIS UK, that’s certainly not the case! WIS began trading in the UK in 2001 and from the early beginnings made a commitment not to employ temporary (agency) staff, and to ensure that training programmes were developed which would produce professional, customer focused, performance driven leaders. Amanda Howells, HR Manager, has always been very proud of the training that WIS offers which has been developed over the last three years and she was full of pride when the Company were awarded IIP recognition in 2003. Through the “Investment in People” and the true application of skills training, WIS UK have grown service volume at the rate of 50% year on year while maintaining exceptional service standards unsurpassed within UK and Europe.

Not only did Business Link York and North Yorkshire successfully support WIS UK through the IIP programme but it was their adviser Pat Black who first commented how comprehensive and thorough the Crew Management Training Programme was and that as a bespoke programme for the industry may deserve external accreditation. With the help and support of York College (Pure Business Solutions) in October the NCFE accredited the WIS Crew Manager Development Programme. There are 3 levels which can take from 8 – 18 months to achieve. Training takes various forms throughout the programme from tutor led events, work based learning, coaching, customer feedback and tests in different accounts. Such is our commitment to this development programme, we have now put in place a dedicated resource to manage the process and support the field managers to ensure a high success rate. Achievement of each level is awarded with a certificate from York College, on reaching level 3 the successful crew manager will have been certified as competent for managing teams of up to 80 people for our most complex inventories such as Asda.

In gaining this external accreditation, all WIS crew managers and customers benefit from the quality assurance that comes from being externally accredited by a National Awarding Body.
